The Esther Project: Holistic Wellbeing & Healing

Empowering women to navigate health, healing, and life’s transitions through accessible self care.

At Healing Hands Haven, we believe true healing starts from within. Founded by Mindy Bering, our practice grew from a combination of lived experience and professional expertise. We understand how unseen, unsupported, and overwhelmed many women feel when navigating chronic stress, fatigue, health issues, or significant life transitions like menopause.

We created The Esther Project to break the stigma surrounding women’s mental health and make practical holistic wellness accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances.

Understanding Women’s Health Challenges

Mental health affects women uniquely. According to the UK’s Mental Health Foundation, 1 in 5 women experience a common mental health condition (such as anxiety or depression), compared to 1 in 8 men. Key pressures impacting women include:

Hormonal Fluctuations
Significant changes during puberty, pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause directly influence mental and physical wellbeing

Societal & Media Pressures
Unrealistic beauty standards, gender roles, and social media dynamics contribute to lower self esteem and body image concerns

Caregiving Responsibilities
Managing the primary care of children, ageing parents, or sick family members often leads to burnout

Trauma & Abuse
Women disproportionately face trauma, which can have long lasting mental health consequences if left unsupported

What We Offer

Our workshops focus on identifying the root causes of mental and emotional strain rather than simply managing symptoms, leading to long term resilience:

Self Care Routines
Simple, effective holistic practices supporting relaxation, stress management, sleep and menopausal wellbeing at home

Sustainable Tools
Practical strategies you can use anytime, making self care achievable without time constraints or ongoing expense

Safe Community
An empathetic, judgment free space designed to encourage connection, confidence and belonging

Collaborative Support
Established relationships with trusted health and wellbeing professionals, including pelvic floor physiotherapists, personal trainers, gynaecologists, nutritionists and counsellors, so we can signpost women to appropriate specialist support where needed

Ethical Standards
Prioritising eco-friendly, cruelty-free, vegan and natural ingredients across our therapies and wellbeing offerings

Working With Organisations

We’re keen to work collaboratively with businesses, corporate organisations, employers, charities, CICs, community groups, women’s support organisations and local authorities to bring women’s wellbeing into workplaces and communities.

We provide tailored workshops and wellbeing sessions for staff, community groups, service users and women’s programmes, supporting organisations to enhance their existing health and wellbeing initiatives. Whether you’re looking to support employee wellbeing, menopause awareness, community health or women experiencing life transitions, we can work with you to create a session suited to your audience and objectives.

Partner With Us: Expanding Access & Support

The ongoing cost of living crisis means complementary and holistic therapies are often out of reach for young women, working class individuals, single parents, and trauma survivors. We believe every woman should have access to practical support for her health and wellbeing, regardless of financial circumstances, though we recognise these services can be difficult to access, particularly for women experiencing financial hardship, isolation or challenging life circumstances.

The Esther Project is currently seeking funding, grants and organisational partnerships to help make this vision a reality. We don’t currently have dedicated funding in place, but our aim is to secure funding that enables us to deliver accessible and subsidised workshops and wellbeing programmes within communities and organisations supporting women.

How we hope to collaborate:

Funded Community Workshops
Tailored wellbeing and self care workshops delivered through community groups, charities, support hubs and women’s services

Women’s Health & Wellbeing
Accessible sessions covering menopause awareness, stress management, self care and holistic wellbeing

Support Through Life Transitions
Gentle, supportive wellbeing activities for women experiencing significant changes, alongside appropriate specialist services

Collaborative Partnerships
Working with charities, CICs, businesses, corporate organisations, and local authorities to develop and fund programmes that meet the needs of the women they support

Referral & Signposting
Building connections with trusted professionals so women can access appropriate specialist support where needed

Our long term vision is to develop sustainable partnerships and funding opportunities that allow The Esther Project to reach more women who may otherwise be unable to access holistic wellbeing support.

“Many women do not lack strength, they simply lack safe, compassionate spaces to speak openly, be heard and learn how to care for themselves.”
